It doesn't matter.

26 USC is not law.

See www.1215.org/lawnotes/lawnotes/irc7806.htm

That's your opinion

THORNTON TO CORNFORTH

Yep!

It's also the opinion of the IRS and the Appellate court.

Trash it if you wish, but there it is in black and white.

One problem with it. How can Richard Cornforth et al. make any money if it were acknowledged? The money is in the fight, not the win.

I demand an apology for the following reasons.

I have never charged anyone a fee.

Nobody has more wins than my students including two cases where the IRS was beaten out of 2.5 million and 21 million respectively.

If you don't apologize, you are truly the enemy of the patriot and a useful idiot for the IRS.

Yes, I accept you at your words that you do not charge any "fee".
But, a good price is charged for your seminars and books.
You are well organized in your marketing campaigns.
[NOTE: Cornforth has had a marketing manager promoting his study materials.]

I acknowledge that you produce good materials.

I also recognize you are well established in your niche.

However, new information from outside sources appears to be not welcome in your camp. When new information did show up (viz. 26 USC 7806) you pompously and arbitrarily rejected it without rational support for your point of view. In your pompous criticism of my point of view, you said, "That's your point of view." In the context used, that total critique carries the obvious message that I'm wrong and you, the great opinionator, have passed unchallengeable judgment that my point of view is crap.

If you can't provide any rational support for your high judgment, why should I take you seriously? Why should anyone have any respect for such unsupported pontification?

Until you improve your behavior, no apology is forthcoming to you.

If you have any honor, you would apologize to me, or, better yet, make an attempt at some modicum of rationality. I would yield if you actually showed me where I am wrong.

For reasons stated above, no apology is offered.

As regards to your high judgment that, "...you are truly the enemy of the patriot and a useful idiot for the IRS," it's apparent to me that rational discourse is outside your operating parameters. Name calling is your bag. Labeling and verbal manipulation of images is your preferred mode of operation.

26 USC 7806 is a gateway provision. Close the gate and you stop 99% of the IRS actions. Unfortunately, it would also eliminate the need for most of your educational materials relating to fighting the IRS. I understand your need for self preservation. In that sense, you are no different than most attorneys, other "professional" practitioners, and patriotic gurus.

I don't belittle that you should be paid for your good work.

I do berate you for your arbitrary, irrational pomposity.

If the best argument you can offer against 26 USC 7806 is "That's your point of view," then all of the responsive adjectives I have applied to you stand strong. On that basis you deserve no apology. If anything, you deserve a title of nobility: e.g. High Image Maker and Trasher of Competitive Thought. Madison Avenue is looking for persons with such skills. You would have great success there.

Your living proof that one doesn't win arguments with idiots. So long.

CONCLUSION

Richard Cornforth, like many patriot gurus, has his own personal agenda, whatever that may be. Although he has done good work and has helped many people, he is not open to new ideas that may cut into his cash flow. He is unable or unwilling to provide rational legal support for his position. And, when the heat is on, his solution is to hide from conversation rather than to go head-to-head to find a solution.

In my opinion Richard Cornforth is tapping into the cash flow that comes with fighting, not winning, by selling his publications and seminars. I believe his offerings, though very good, are not necessarily the most efficient way to conduct a legal battle.

As always, when dealing with such people, caveat emptor [let the buyer beware].

By the way, if Richard Cornforth wishes to add his own conclusion to this web page, he is welcome to. He just has to send me his response and I will post it here. He has made it clear that he does not want to hear from me, which I'll respect. But, if someone else would like to notify him of this, his e-mail address is RichardCornforth@aol.com

Joe,

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. It is waste of my time to communicate with you further because you think your opinions trump published law.

So long.
